Fax, Copiers, Computers, etc.
Yes we have:
Computers
We have 19 computers available for public access. 10 are on the first floor (2 of these are library catalog only) and 9 are the second floor. You do not have to have a library card and there is no password required to use them.
Please know that you are bound by our Computer Use Policy when using our computers. It is available at the above link and in printed form near each computer.
Copiers
We have two copiers, one on each floor. They print traditional 8x11 and 8x14-inch copies. Copies are .15 cents a sheet, black and white only.
Fax Machine
Our fax machine is on the first floor, near the Circulation desk. It is available for public use. Ask library staff if you need any help. The charge to send a fax is $1.00 for the first page and .50 cents for each page after the first. The charge to receive a fax is .50 cents per page. The number for our fax machine is 978-468-5535.
Microfilm Reader
Our microfilm reader is available for public use. It is on the second floor. It is primarily used to access our microfilm collection of back issues of the Hamilton Wenham Chronicle dating back to 1958, also available on the second floor, in the Closed Stacks. Ask library staff if you wish to retrieve microfilm materials or need any help using the microfilm reader.
Printers
We have two public-access printers, one on each floor. They print for .15 cents a sheet, black and white only. If you need any help printing, just ask our library staff.
(Hint: if you haven't printed on the second floor before, it is definitely good to ask for help the first time you do so.)
Scanner
We have one scanner on the second floor, attached to the left-most computer behind the Reference Desk. The scanner will work with this computer only. Look for the EPSON Scan icon on the computer's desktop screen. For more help, ask the reference librarian.
Typewriter
There is a typewriter available on our second floor. We mostly use it for typing spine labels but it is available for public use. Great for filling out forms! If you need any help getting started with the typewriter, just ask staff. We can set you up and lend you the manual if you want it.
Visual Aid Program: Enlarger
This is a powerful magnifying device that you can use for reading. It is for public use on the second floor and is made available by the Lions Club. Ask staff if you need any help using it.
Wi-fi (Wireless Internet)
Yes, the library offers wireless "wi-fi" access for users with properly equipped laptops. It is available on both floors. Ask a librarian for help if you experience any difficulties with the wireless. Click here for our Wireless Access Point Policy.
When you use the Internet in the Hamilton-Wenham Library, you are accepting the library's Computer Use and Internet Policy. Please take the time to read the policy before accessing the network.
