Periodicals
The Hamilton-Wenham Library carries 59 Adult periodicals, 11 Children’s periodicals and 2 Young Adult periodicals (*these numbers do not include Inactive Subscriptions.) The most recent copies of magazines are kept on shelves in the Adult Periodical area on the first floor, in the Children’s Room, and in the Young Adult area.
Magazines older than six months are kept in the Closed Stacks, and can be accessed by asking the Reference Librarian. National Geographic, Newsweek and Time are kept in perpetuity, with many older issues reproduced in bound book format. Consumer Reports and the J. D. Power (formerly NADA) Official Used and Older Used Car Guides are kept for four years. The rest of our magazines are kept for two years.
Adult Periodicals
Issues can be checked out for up to one week and can be renewed once if there are no outstanding requests on the material.

Inactive Periodicals
Subscriptions become inactive when publishers discontinue, vendors stop carrying, or libraries opt not to renew a given title.
These inactive subscriptions are listed here because issues of them still exist at our library.
Magazines are removed after two years, so these titles will drop off the list once the last issue is removed.
New Moon (Children’s)
Rolling Stone (YA)
Scout Life (Children’s)
